Monday: Bar Olympics

OZNZ starts off the week with a bevy of drunken challenges, from Wii games and darts to blackjack, ring toss, and of course the classic beer pong. Just buy a drink to enter, and the winner receives a bottle of vodka.

Tuesday: Shanghaiist Scrabble Happy Hour

It’s your favorite happy hour, complete with Scrabble and Shanghaiist fans, and of course, a two-for-one drink special. With every drink, you get five scrabble tiles; make words on our board, and the person with the most points at the end of the night wins a ¥250 drink voucher to Cotton’s!

Wednesday: Mademoiselle Fashion Show, American blues

M1NT presents a fashion show featuring the Miss Mean line by Ni Zhihua, a French-influenced designer whose style is full of feminine ruffles, flowers, and sensuous materials. Tickets are ¥180 and include two drinks.

Singer Dave Keyes has played the New York music scene for over twenty years, guitarist Woody Mann has recorded with numerous blues and folk masters. Together, the duo presents their musical interpretations for a night of American blues, swing and gospel.

Thursday: Drinks for a Cause

Social Venture Group is hosting their first Drinks for a Cause, benefitting the NGO Compassion for Migrant Children. CMC is a charity that helps urban migrant children through social and education programs; they will be describing their work in China and will also be selling ‘artsy’ merchandise. All proceeds go towards the CMC’s new community center. ¥100 at the door, includes a drink.

Friday: Twocities in Tune, Two Soldiers Exhibit

Twocities in Tune is back, and its spring kickoff concert features vocalist Yue Yan, pianist Steve Sweeting, and percussionist Jeremy Moyer on erhu and banjo. The trio will be performing arrangements of jazz and Chinese folk songs, focusing on music from Yunnan and Xinjiang.

Shanghai Studio presents the opening of the photo exhibition Two Soldiers. Directed by Swiss Hanspeter Ammann, Two Soldiers is a series of 19 portraits of two Thai brothers who both serve in the Royal Thai Air Force. The exhibition runs until May 19. Random FYI, the studio is also hosting an Easter party afterwards, so come prepared to do the bunny hop.
